Facade Maintenance Grant Program

The Downtown Danville Association Board of Directors would like to introduce to you our new Façade Maintenance Grant Program. We have designed this program to help continue the beautification program we have worked so hard to implement over the past 6 years. Many storefronts have been renovated and look wonderful. Some business owners took advantage of our City's Façade program that offered a forgivable loan for ½ of the costs the owner spent on their building. That program got the ball rolling, but after 6 years, things start to need attention again. We realized that some business owners may need some assistance sprucing things up again, and while they cannot go back to the City's Façade program, they can now apply to this new program the DDA has to offer.

The fundraising efforts our board constantly undertakes are for you…our downtown merchants! We would like to designate some of these funds to help you keep your buildings looking great!

The following are some of the things that could qualify for a grant…

Painting or staining, repairing broken windows, signage, repointing bricks, masonry repairs, repairing flashing, architectural moulding repairs, window and door hardware (repair or replacement), stained glass repairs and repairing broken or torn awnings.

If you are interested in applying for monies to repair or maintain your property, you must submit the following…

•	Submit an application (one is enclosed), and a description of the repair or maintenance issue, (pictures would be helpful)
•	Submit 2 estimates for the work that needs to be done; including a breakdown on the labor and the materials.
•	Grant awards are subject to availability of funding.
•	Understand that you may not receive the money, and that if you do, you must pay for the project yourself upfront, and then the money will be reimbursed to you.

Remember this money is not for new things you want to do to your building, but only repair or maintenance items.
