I can say is get your tickets NOW, this will be a Danville evening not to be forgotten!! The
blessings of destiny brought the North Theatre and our community, knowledge of
the European jazz sensation, ANCA PARGHEL. Anca's husband, Alex, came to Danville
as a toxicologist with LUNA the nano-technology concern that is fast becoming
a part of the regions' landscape and this makes ANCA a part of the Danville community.
It is rare that ANCA gets a break from a heavy touring schedule across Europe
and as head of the Jazz Department at the Royal Academy of Brussels, but she will
be in town for a month and has graciously agreed to perform for us on the North
Stage. A master of Jazz vocals and a scat singer that would give Ella Fitzgerald
a turn, she is also an accomplished pianist, both jazz and classical and we will
get to hear her sing and play the Alice R. Grogan Steinway Concert Grand Piano
on the evening of November 10, 2006 at 7:30 PM. As if this was not enough
for the price of $10.00, we will open the show with VITWAS CHITNIS playing the
mystical sounds of sitar with the classical tabla accompanist. VITWAS, who hails
from Raliegh, North Carolina, studied with the master Ali Kahn and this will be
a rare treat for all of us! Tickets are on sale at INTERMISSION CAFE, Tuesdays
through Saturdays from 4 to 10 pm in the North Theatre Arts Complex, 629 North
Main Street in Danville.. INTERMISSION is a full service restaurant and bar serving
the best tastes in the city with linens and candlelight, often with live piano
music for your total dining pleasure. Make your reservations early for before
or after show dining. The show is brought to you by The North Theatre with

& Mira Becher, Barry & Deborah Flinn, Albert & Patricia Maurakis,
