| An
unfortunate social faux pas and its absurd and often hilarious consequences form
the basis for the latest Little Theatre of Danville offering, The Underpants,
set for the North Theatre stage in late February. The farce, adapted by comedian
and writer Steve Martin from a short story by Carl Sternheim, pokes fun at societal
class distinctions and the very human trait of worrying about what others may
think of us, while simultaneously examining the frequently unexpected and overblown
results of seemingly minor occurrences. The play stars Gil Brantley, Mavis
Brantley-Lloyd, Robert Brooks, Marianna Lavinder, Mike Perry & Tom Saunders. Little
Theatre's production of The Underpants is directed by Alice Saunders and Mavis
Brantley-Lloyd. The Underpants is the third production of Little Theatre's
2005-2006 season, and is the second to be performed in the elegantly restored
North Theatre, located at 629 N. Main St. in Danville. Performances are scheduled
for 7:30 pm February 24 & 25, with a 2 pm matinee Sunday, February 26. Admission
to each performance is $12 per person. Due to the spaciousness of the North Theatre
auditorium, the theatre group has dispensed with advance ticket sales, and will
offer ticket sales only at the door. Discount packages are available for groups
of ten or more. For more information about The Underpants or to request
