The Alice R. Grogan Steinway Grand Piano
Model D
The piano fund is a $100,000 fund raising opportunity to
allow The North Theatre, Inc. to purchase a Steinway Model
D 9 Foot Concert Grand Piano and to provide funds for the
organization of the first ever Annual Danville Amateur Piano
Competition. The piano has been purchased and has been used
on stage at The North during our first concert program,
The Heath Brothers Jazz Quartet. The piano fund reached
a significant level, allowing us to purchase the piano,
through a leadership gift by Mr. Frank T. Grogan, Jr. Mr.
Grogan named the piano "The Alice R. Grogan Steinway
Grand Piano" in honor of his late wife. The Grogans
have purchased two other pianos for other Danville organizations.
Of special note, The Alice R. Grogan Steinway Grand Piano
was signed by the last living relative of the Steinway family,
Mr. Henry Steinway.
The piano fund currently stands at $76,000. With a goal
of $100,000 their is opportunity for interested parties
to contribute to this exciting project. To contribute to
