| Major Donor Program |

Individuals or companies can take the lead by sponsoring
a room in The North Theatre complex. We say complex (view)
because in addition to the 493 seat theatre, the 25,000
square foot facility will include a place to gather with
friends pre-show for a chat and a beverage, a bar and
a cafe on premises for dinning before and after the event,
an art gallery, meeting rooms and an office complex for
other cultural organizations and much more. We offer rooms
for sponsorship that range from $10,000 to $75,000. (see
room list) By joining us with your financial support,
you become a key contributor in this important effort
to rejuvenate and enhance what was once considered the
finest and is the only remaining historic theatre in Danville.
In recognition of your contribution a bronze plaque will
be prominently affixed in the room you choose to sponsor.

| What can The North Theatre, Inc. do for
the Danville region and your company? |
|
1
|
Provide a top ranking professional venue
for theatrical productions, classic movies, piano
concerts and competitions, travelogues, meetings and
attract new developing plays for pre-Broadway development. |
|
2
|
Provide our Galileo School with a performance
space and a perfect environment for the study of theatre
arts while contributing to the school's gaining its
International Baccalaureate status. |
|
3
|
The North, upon opening, will be aimed
at soon putting Danville on the map like the Barter
Theatre did for Abingdon, Virginia and it will set
out to even exceed that recognition. |
|
4
|
Be a tool for attracting new industries
and to attract candidates for top management positions
at new and existing industries. |
|
5
|
Make your company known as a leader
in providing quality entertainment and enhancing the
lifestyle of our citizens. |
|
| |
| How will The North Theatre, Inc. accomplish
these items? |
|
1
|
In our renovation and development budget
$700,000 has been appropriated for: |
| |
| a) |
Hoffend's VORTEK theatre rigging
system. Allows the technical operation control
of an entire show from a single position using
touch screens and menus to fly in props, raise
and lower flats and drops and make lighting
pipe adjustments, all at the same time and in
a matter of seconds. This is truly the latest
in theatre technology! |
| b) |
Two film projection systems and
a 24-foot wide screen. One for 35mm film projection
and the other for state of the art digital projection.
Cinemas around the country are only just now
beginning to install digital systems, making
the North among the first to offer this alternative
where a movie or a presentation shot on film
or tape and rendered digitally can be projected
on
the big screen. |
| c) |
Two sound systems. Surround sound
for the cinema presentations, as good or better
than the systems found in modern multiplexes
like the Danville Stadium 12 Cinema and a live
performance sound delivery system that will
carry the sound throughout the depth of the
theatre at an equally clear volume to every
seat in the house. |
| d) |
The region's first Steinway Concert
Grand piano for piano performance and national
competitions will attract the very very best
musicians to our city and allow our best to
showcase their talents on one of the finest
crafted instruments in the world. |
|
|
2
|
Galileo School and The North Theatre,
Inc. will work together to provide the best theatre
arts education and experience to the students of our
premiere technology high school. |
|
3
|
The National Endowment for the Arts
has already selected The North Theatre, Inc. for two
programs in its first year of operations. Its Jazz
Masters Series will bring us a pro jazz performer
and we will also get to pick from the NEA sponsored
Shakespeare companies to bring one performing arts
group with a play and a community integrated education
workshop. This is only part of a wide variety of programs
in film, theatre and music to reach the interests
of all Danville citizens and beyond. With such national
attention, word of our new venue and its capability
will spread swiftly on the East Coast and beyond making
it a likely attraction for producers of new and developing
plays and performances pre-Broadway. |
