Grove Street Cemetery

Entrance to Grove Street Cemetery, Danville's oldest
cemetery dating back to post-revolutionary War Days.

Brick mausoleums, resembling the above ground
vaults popular in the marshy low country along the
coastal southeast, two of several in the cemetery.

Shepherd/Noble plot is the cemetery's largest square, which
is enclosed by cast-iron fence, contains the remains of
the first four members of Danville's Episcopal Church.

Numerous cast-metal Confederate crosses that
dot the cemetery mark the graves of local victims
of the War Between the States.
